Teenager Detained Over Links To Murder of Fallen IEBC ICT Boss Msando

A minor is in police custody after she was found with a phone reportedly used to send threatening messages to slain IEBC manager Chris Msando.

The 16-year-old was arrested by DCI officers at her aunt’s house in Awendo, Migori county on Wednesday. She is being held at the Muthaiga police station.

Her parents are yet to arrive in Nairobi to make a statement.

Police said they are investigating what details the girl used to register her line.

The phone is said to be among three used to send Msando threatening messages that were recorded at Central Police Station.

Msando was early this month found dead in Muguga forest in Kikuyu and his body taken to City Mortuary just a day after IEBC reported he was missing.

An autopsy revealed that Msando was strangled to death.

Government pathologist Johansen Oduor also said Msando had incisions on his right arm but the rest of his body was intact

He was murdered alongside 21-year-old Carol Ngumbu.
