Ugandan Communications Commission (UCC) has revoked controversial city pastor Augustine Yiga’s ABS TV for falling short of minimum broadcasting standards.
In a September 05 notice, UCC executive director Godfrey Mutabazi has ordered the TV station off air.
Mutabazi reminded ABS TV of their failure to respect various warnings against broadcasting offensive shows, even when the station was fined Shs 25m about a year ago.
According to the statement, ABS TV will remain off air until UCC is satisfied that the station has modified and harmonised its content.
Recently, Yiga hired ‘sexy’ girls who anchor news dressed almost semi-nude.
The station came to the limelight because of its ‘Kalondozi’ show that trailed cheating lovers at the request of one’s spouse.
