The Police in Masaka are holding three suspects to help in investigating a murder case in Kalungu District where a 40-year-old woman identified as Lillian Nansubuga was beheaded.
According to the Regional Police Spokesman Lameck Kigozi, the incident inwhich unknown people hacked Nansubuga, a resident Ssala Kabaale Village in Lwabenge Sub County to death, occurred on Tuesday morning.
“The Police recovered the axe suspected to have been used in the murder from the family’s pit latrine,” Kigozi said.
The deceased was a wife to Kalungu District LC5 Chairperson, Richard Kyabaggu.
Kyabaggu rushed home upon learning about the incident and together with other locals contacted the Police.
So far, investigations point to the deceased’s 17-year-old son Emmanuel Walugembe whom she deceased was staying with.
