Tarrus Riley Speaks Out on Cancelled Kampala Concert

Jamaican-American reggae singer Tarrus Riley has broken silence on his cancelled Kampala Concert which was scheduled to take place at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala on 1st December, 2017.

Ugandans on Social Media have since the news of the concert cancellation came out, attacked the “Just The Way You Are” singer accusing him of being a liar.

It will be remembered that Tarrus Riley had even recorded a video clip in which he assured fans that he would perform in Kampala.

However in a post via Facebook, the singer clarified that it was not his fault but rather that of the promoters (Red Fog and Bolt Agency) in Uganda.

“It is amazing how quickly we as black brothers and sisters tend to speak badly of each other without getting all the facts, I have waited my entire career and it was like a dream come true to play in Kampala, Uganda. My team has held this date for over three months only to receive an email from the promoters of the event two days ago which stated “Unfortunately, due to events beyond my control, our exclusive sponsor for the event, notified me only last week that they would not be fulfilling their contractual obligations…Due to this situation I am asking that we reschedule for a time when I am able to generate capital and secure a diversified sponsor base to make the concert happen.” My team and I are VERY disappointed but this is no fault of mine,” Tarrus Riley wrote on Facebook.

The development comes as a huge disappointed to reggae music lovers in Uganda, who were excited about watching Tarrus Riley performing live in Kampala.
