Police has Wednesday released Paddy Sserunjoji aka Ssobi, the leader of the notorious Kifeesi Gang and two of his gang members Kasozi Shafiq and Twaha Tim.
The three were arrested on Monday at Rose Gardens Hotel in Nsangi where they were speaking to journalists.
Ssobi and his gang in December last year came out and addressed a press conference where they revealed that they had reformed from criminal activities including armed robberies and murder. They also assured party goers that they had no intentions to carry out robberies during the festive season.
Police Spokes Person SSP Emilian Kayima has confirmed that Ssobi and his colleagues have been released but says it will not stop the ongoing investigations about the allegations of murder and working with Police officers in committing of crimes, which they openly made on Television.
“This doesn’t stop the investigation and whoever has a complaint against the trio is welcome at CID Kampala Metropolitan Police headquarters to have their statements recorded for appropriate handling,” said Kayima.
The three suspects will be reporting back at Kampala Metropolitan Police headquarters on Friday next week.
