Beverages manufacturer Coca-Cola treated their trade partners, the media and a segment of fine dining enthusiasts to an evening of jazz, food and specially selected soft drinks to officially unveil the new irresistible, lemon-flavored and sparkly Schweppes +C drink.
For the launch, Schweppes transformed one of Kampala’s best bars – The Lawns, in Kololo – into a stylish jazz bar complete with a live band and a Schweppes cocktail and mock-tail bar. The elegantly designed venue made sure that guests had a night to remember and associate with the sparkle and glitz of opening a bottle of Schweppes +C.
Schweppes +C is a great tasting, sparkling beverage with added vitamin C. It not only quenches thirst, but offers an enhanced vitamin option to the adult consumer seeking to be refreshed and energized.
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Uganda Managing Director, Conrad Van Niekerk, said the launch of Schweppes +C was a fulfilment of the consumer promise the company made at the start of the year.
“We told you we would present you with many more high quality refreshing beverages this year and with Schweppes +C we are delivering on this promise. This is a drink you would not hesitate to pick out of a Coca-Cola cooler and share at any time of day or night. As you are all proving here tonight, it acts as the perfect cool drink on its own, and as a great mixer. We know everybody will be happy with it – including our business partners who now have more to offer consumers,” he said.
Speaking during the launch, Mr. Patrick Oyuru, the Sales and Marketing Director Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Uganda, thanked all the guests and business partners for honoring the invitation to celebrate the official launch of Schweppes +C. He assured the customers that the product would be available across the country targeting to reach consumers far and wide.
Mrs. Maggie Kigozi, the Coca-Cola Uganda Marketing Manager reiterated that “Our customers are our number one priority and we are very aware of the changes in their demands. We have dedicated time and resources into research and innovation to ensure that all our products meet these ever-changing demands and preferences, the addition of Vitamin C greatly differentiates Schweppes +C from the other products on the market and gives it the refreshment of a sparkling product with the added benefits of Vitamin C, and a great taste,” she said.
The Schweppes +C launch comes a few weeks after Coca-Cola unveiled Fuze Tea – a unique blend of tea extract and fruit flavours created through a process that ensures a delightful fusion of tea, fruit, herbs and other natural ingredients. The company has further announced that their customers across the country should expect many more products and an increased number of variants for the already existing ones.
Starting today, Schweppes +C can be found at all major supermarkets, restaurants and hangouts across the country at a recommended retail price of UGX 2,000.
