South Sudan Army Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) James Ajonga Mawut has Friday morning passed on in a hospital in Cairo, Egypt.
Gen. Ajonga who has been admitted in Cairo underwent a successful kidney operation earlier this week.
He was scheduled to travel to Germany for further treatment but was denied entry.
Ajonga was appointed CDF in May 2017, replacing General Paul Malong.
