The Imbalu (circumcision) season Bugisu region kicks off today (Saturday 11th August, 2018) with an official event in Mbale.
Several local surgeons in the region are already prepared for the much anticipated festivities.
The ceremony is held every year, where boys from allover the region are circumcized as a way of initiating them into manhood.
The boys have all undergone various tests to ensure they are ready to be circumcised.
President Yoweri Museveni and his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta are expected to grace the opening function.
The circumcision festivities cover Bududa, Bulambuli, Namisindwa, Mbale, Sironko and Manafwa and parts of Eastern Kenya.
