Bobi Wine Finally Travels Abroad for Treatment

Police on Friday finally cleared Kyadondo East Member of Parliament and musician Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine to travel abroad for treatment.

Bobi Wine, together with fellow MP Francis Zaake (Mityana Municipality) were blocked from boarding their flights at Entebbe Airport on Thursday before they were arrested and whisked to Kiruddu Hospital located along Salaama Road in Makindye Division.

The two legislators sustained injuries when they were brutally arrested and allegedly tortured by security operatives in Arua two weeks ago.

Their re-arrest was highly condemned on Social Media.

A protest also erupted in Kamwokya but Police swung into action on time to contain it.

Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima said the Bobi Wine and Zaake were taken to Kiruddu hospital to allow government specialists examine them following their torture allegations.

“Now that Hon. Kyagulanyi has been examined by the medical team of experts at Mulago National Referral Hospital, the Uganda Police has allowed him to leave the medical facility,” Kayima said.

Bobi Wine flew out of the country on Friday evening.

According to relatives, he traveled to the United States, where he will be receiving treatment.

This website has learnt MP Zaake has also been cleared to travel to India for treatment.
