Bobi Wine Bodyguard Eddie Mutwe Charged With Treason, Remanded

Kyadondo East MP and musician Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine’s body guard, Edward Ssebuufu popularly known as Eddie Mutwe has Tuesday (11th September, 2018) been charged with treason by the Gulu magistrates Court.

Eddie Mutwe was on 25th August this year allegedly picked up by state operatives from Semakokiro Plaza in Kamwokya, 11 days after Bobi Wine’s arrest in Arua on August 14th.

Mutwe whereabouts remained unknown until his lawyer Eron Kiiza filed a habeas corpus application on August 30th.

Justice Musa Sekaana would then direct security agencies to produce Eddie Mutwe in court on September 4 and explain why he was being detained.

On Tuesday, Eddy Mutwe appeared before Gulu magistrates Court, where he was with treason following and chaos that happened in Arua Municipality during the by-election, where President Museveni’s convoy was pelted with stones, damaging one of his lead cars.

Bobi Wine’s driver Yasin Kawuma was also shot dead in the chaos.

Mutwe has been remanded to Gulu Central prison until October 1st.
