BREAKING: Uganda Musicians Association Chairperson Resigns

Swangz Avenue boss Julius Kyazze has resigned his position as the chairperson of the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA), The Tower Post reports.

Kyazze tendered his resignation letter on Tuesday September 18th.

In the letter whose copy The Tower Post has seen, he cites “unforeseen personal commitments” as reason for his resignation.

“I was both excited and humbled when I got the opportunity to be elected to serve as the chairperson of an amazing group of people. It has been indeed a great honor for me to serve,” Kyazze wrote.

“Unfortunately, due to unforeseen personal commitments, I cannot fully serve as chairperson.

“I will facilitate a smooth handover to my predecessor and also remain an active member of the association.”

Kyazze has served as the UMA chairperson since October 2017.
