IGP Ochola Tells Bobi Wine to Forget about ‘Kyarenga’ Namboole Concert Until 2019

Uganda’s police chief Inspector General of Police (IGP) Martins Okoth Ochola says Bobi Wine’s Kyarenga show will not happen this year.

In a letter the police chief wrote through Assuman Mugyenyi, the police director of operations, Ochola advised Bobi Wine’s events manager Emma Serugo, a director of Emma Promotionz and Marketing Agency, to cancel the Kyarenga concert.

Mugyenyi’s response to Serugo shows that Kyarenga concert was not on the list of events to held at Namboole between September 2018 and January 2019.

“The management of Namboole National Stadium has availed us with a matrix of events they plan to host from September, 2018 to January 2019 but does not include the above music show [Kyarenga concert],” Mugyenyi wrote to  Serugo.

“You are therefore, advised to call off the music show since you are have not made any arrangements with management of Mandela National Stadium to host the music show on October 20, 2018.”
