Young rapper Patrick Ssenyonjo alias Fresh Kid has Tuesday morning met with State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi over the ongoing saga about the singer’s school versus performance.
Nakiwala had earlier directed the ‘Banteeka’ hit maker to hang up his microphone and go back to school else he faces arrest and jail time.
The Minister argued that it was criminal for the young rapper’s managers to make a juvenile work and that studio time was interfering with his school.
But the minister received bashment from fellow legislators who said she was suffocating young talent in the name of promoting education.
The rapper would also reply to the Minister in his new single titled bambi, where he asks Hon. Nakiwala not to send him back to the village.
He references young South African deejay DJ Arch Junior who started performing at the age of 2 years, and Nigerian comedian Emmanuela, saying he admires them and would like to be like them.
In the meeting, the minister allowed Fresh kid continue with his performances but on condition that he must attend school.
He has also been asked to post satisfactory results at the end of every year.
