First son and Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba on Wednesday evening (April 24th, 2019) celebrated his 45th birthday with a party held at the Commonwealth Resort in Munyonyo.
This was the first time Muhoozi was celebrating his birthday in public ever since 1986. He has in the previous years celebrated his birthday privately with his family members.
His birthday was graced by some of Uganda’s big names including politicians, senior security officers and the business community among others.
While speaking that the function, Muhoozi thanked the organizers and promised to attend more social gatherings.
“I want to thank all of you for attending this event. Thank you for honoring the invitation of the organizing committee. This is my first public birthday celebration in 33 years. The last time was in 1986, very soon after Kampala fell,” Muhoozi said.
He thanked David Kabanda for “quietly” convincing him to have the function before he (Kabanda) mobilized other members to organize the function.
“I want to thank them very much. I thought it was going to be the typical Ugandan functions where somebody invites you and then gives you the budget for the party they invited you to. I have to report that this organizing committee asked nothing apart from my attendance,” Muhoozi said amidst cheers from the guests.
Some of those that attended the function include; Deputy Inspector General of Police Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, Chief of Staff Land Forces Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda, the Chief of Staff Airforce Maj Gen James Birungi, Commander Special Forces Command (SFC) Maj Gen Don Nabasa and Lt Col Edith Nakalema among others.
Ugandan businessman and entrepreneur Patrick Bitature, Ministers Evelyn Anite and Frank Tumwebaze, Senior Presidential Press Secretary Don Wanyama, Rupaleria Group’s Rajiv Ruparelia and his wife Naiya, Vision Group CEO Robert Kabushenga, and Government Spokesperson Ofwono Opondo among others were also present.
Guests were entertained by guitarist Myco Ouma and the band, and top Ugandan musician Bebe Cool.
