Cranes Coach Desabre Names 23-Man Squad for AFCON 2019

Uganda Cranes Coach Desabre Sebastien has named final 23-man squad to play in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 tournament in Egypt set to start on June 21st.

According to Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), the list of players and their numbers will be submitted to CAF.

The 23 players are; Denis Onyango (18), Jamal Salim Magoola (19), Robert Odongkara (1, Murushid Jjuuko(4), Bevis Mugabi (5), Isaac Muleme (20), Hassan Wasswa Mawanda (16), Wakiro Nico Wadada (14), Joseph Benson Ochaya (2), Timothy Denis Awany (3), Godfrey Walusimbi (15), Ronald Mukiibi (12), William Kizito Luwagga (10), Khalid Aucho (8), Mike Azira (23), Faruku Miya (17), Tadeo Lwanga (6), Allan Kateregga (13), Lumala Abdu (22), Emmanuel Arnold Okwi (7), Patrick Henry Kaddu (9), Derrick Nsibambi (11) and Allan Kyambadde (21).

Uganda Cranes will be playing in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 tournament following a 1-0 home victory over Cape Verde in the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers game which was played at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole in Kampala on Saturday 17th November, 2018.

The team is currently training at the Park Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

Uganda, which is in Group A, will face the Democratic Republic of Congo in their opening match, before playing against Zimbabwe in the second round and finally the hosts, Egypt in the group stage.
