President Yoweri Museveni on Wednesday confirmed 985 Cadet Police Officers to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police.
The announcement was made by Deputy police Spokesperson ACP Polly Namaye in a statement on Wednesday evening.
“The Uganda Police Force with great pleasure informs the general public that 985 cadet officers have been confirmed in service to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police,” she said.
This according to Namaye, is the first phase and more cadet officers are expected to be confirmed in the second phase
“We congratulate all the officers who have been confirmed upon achieving this milestone. We also encourage them to continue exhibiting this spirit of national service and discipline in all their assignments,” Namaye urged.
Two (2) of the 985 officers were confirmed posthumously.
