Rugby Commemorates 26th Kabaka Coronation Anniversary

Rhinos Rugby Football Club in partnership with the Buganda kingdom and Vivo energy Uganda through the Shell Rimula brand will host the annual Coronation Rugby 7s Cup at Legends Rugby Groundson Saturday July 20, 2019

This 2nd edition of the Coronation ugby 7s cup will also double as the 5th circuit of the Roke sevens.

This tournament will feature 16 teams (12 males and 4 females) fiercely competing on the rugby pitch to be crowned winners

The coronation rugby 7s cup is part of the commemoration activities celebrating the crowning of His Majesty Ssabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi `11 as the king of Buganda.

The annual coronation anniversary is celebrated in Bugandakingdom because of its reverence of the Buganda kingdom and its culture by many people throughout Uganda.

The event is a highly celebrated by the Buganda kingdom, its venerable royals and subjects

“Buganda kingdom emphasizes healthy living and rugby is a sport of healthy bodies and minds. How can we miss out on such an exciting event? The Kabaka appreciated the contribution of sport to the kingdom. Rugby is a sport that teaches the values of integrity, solidarity, discipline and respect and therefore we need to embrace it and support it,” said Prince David Wasajja who is a Ugandan Rugby Union trustee.

Large numbers of rugby fans are expected flock the Legends Rugby Grounds for the much anticipated event.
