Singer Edrisa Musuza aka Eddy Kenzo has released a consolation song ‘Bibaawo’ (things happen) and written an emotional letter after it emerged that his ex-lover and fellow singer Rema Namakula was set to introduce a one Dr Hamza Sebunya.
Rema and Kenzo broke up over a year ago but their break-up remained a matter of speculation in the media.
After over 5 years of a love relationship that brought Aamal, their daughter.
But the relationship took a nosedive last year with reports that Eddy Kenzo had moved out of their Seguku home and rented another an apartment.
Rema then released the ‘Siri Muyembe’ (I am not a mango) song that sounded like a last warning to Kenzo to wed her or sit and see her being taken by a man who is ready.
And that man has finally come in Hamza Sebunya, a doctor at Mulago National Referral Hospital.
A photo of Rema and Sebunya emerged online at the weekend.
Reports also indicated all was set for Rema to introduce Sebunya to her people on November 1.
Attending the Uganda North American Association (Unaa) in Chicago, US, by the time the news broke, Eddy Kenzo tweeted: “omunaku wakufa yarabi [a poor man will surely lose or die].”
In the tweet, Kenzo seemed to suggest that Rema had dumped him because he couldn’t afford a wedding.
Kenzo then announced a song titled ‘Bibaawo’ would be out soon, something fans thought was the ‘Sitya Loss’ singer’s way of reaction to the realisation that Rema was no longer his.
The BET award winner has also penned a long social media letter on the matter.
Mixing Luganda and English, Eddy Kenzo said he would keep some form of communication with Rema since they have a child together.
He also lashed at enemies whom he said were keen on bringing him down.
The singer added that he would not engage in leaking the secrets he shared with Rema.
“I have to protect Rema no matter what,” wrote Kenzo.
He also revealed he last talked to Rema a fortnight ago.
“[I love you] and I remember telling you this in our last conversation 2 weeks back,” he revealed.
On claims that he was cheating on Rema and that he already has someone, Kenzo wrote: “I’m single and not searching for some reasons.”
He then congratulated Sebunya on winning Rema’s heart and urged him to love her and support her music career.
“I’m not perfect but I have tried [my] best. Remember she is the best vocalist of all times, she loves music with all her heart,” further wrote Kenzo.
“If you give her support on her career that will be the best feeling ever so Good luck my brother.”
Kenzo also told Sebunya he had no problem with him.
“I’m not your enemy,” said Kenzo.
