The army has come out to comment on the re-arrest of suspected murderers of former police spokesperson AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi.

The suspects were grabbed outside court on Wednesday after they had been discharged by the Registrar of the International Crimes Division of High Court Ms Esther Nasambu, following their bail release by Justice Lydia Mugambe.

UPDF spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire told local press that the suspects were picked up “because they are peace violators.”

“Our people deserve peace and security forces will do whatever they can within the laws established to ensure that,” said Karemire.

The location where the re-arrested suspects are held remains unknown.
