Presidential hopeful and Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine is among the many Ugandans who are mourning the untimely death of Med Kaggwa, the Chairperson Uganda Human Rights Commission UHRC.
Kaggwa died on Wednesday morning after he fainted in his car as he travelled along Kira road at the Mulago round about.
He was rushed to Case Hospital in Kampala where he was pronounced dead at around 9:00AM.
In his eulogy, Bobi Wine said that the deceased helped him during his incarceration in Makindye Military barracks.
“Very saddened by the passing of Hon. Med Kaggwa, Chairperson of the Uganda Human Rights Commission. During the Arua ordeal, Med visited me in military detention and told the world what was going on,” Bobi posted on his Twitter account.
“He did his best, under very difficult circumstances to promote rights. Rest well,” he added.
Up to now, the cause of Kaggwa’s death remains unknown. His body is at Mulago Hospital undergoing postmortem check.
Details of his burial also remain unknown.
