A road accident involving a school van killed six people on Monday leaving seven others with severe injuries.

The van belonging to Glory Primary School was heading to Mbarara, and according to Rwizi Region Traffic Officer Justine Opus the the van overturned after it tyre burst, rolling over and over. It hit a motorcycle that was carrying two people.

According to Opus four of the occupants in the van and the two people who were riding on the motorcycle died on spot.

Survivors were rushed to Rubaare Health Centre IV for treatment.
