The National Resistance Movement might have blocked rebel MPS from attending the party’s national delegates conference, but it is not stopping opposition leaders.

According to NRM’s Secretary-General, Justine Kasule Lumumba, opposition political parties are welcome for the conference.

The TowerPost has seen a statement by NRM’S communication officer, Rogers Mulindwa inviting various opposition leaders including; chairpersons, presidents and secretary generals of Forum for Democratic Change, Democratic Party, Justice Forum and Uganda People’s Conference.The party has also invited several political parties from neighbouring countries such as; South Sudan, Kenya, Burundi and others.

The decision to invite opposition leaders, according to a statement by the party is because of the good working relationship they enjoy with the invited parties

The Conference will happen on January 25 at Namboole Stadium.

14,955 delegates are expected to attend.
