Two UPDF Officers Killed in Plane Crash in Gomba

Two Uganda People’s Defence Forces’ officers have been confirmed dead following the crashing of a fighter jet in Gomba, central Uganda.

This was confirmed by UPDF spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Karemire, the jet AF 301 was on a training mission when it crashed on a hill.

“It had two crew members and no one is reported to have survived but investigations into the cause of the accident have commenced,” Karemire is quoted by local website Nile Post as having said.

“We offer our condolences to the family members and the entire UPDF fraternity,” he reportedly added.

By publication time, identities of the deceased were still unknown.
