Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu Visits Uganda

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel is expected to arrive in the country today for a one-day official visit. According to government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo, Netanyahu will come with a delegation of 45 officials.

The purpose for his coming is not known, but according to reports, the Prime Minister will be here to discuss Uganda’s plans to set up an embassy in Israel.

The Foreign Ministry, however, denied claims that Uganda was moving to set up an embassy there even when Uganda enjoys good relations with Israel.

This will be Netanyahu’s second visit to Uganda. He first came here in 2016.
