Islamic University in Uganda – Kampala Campus (IUIU KC) Law Society is soon going to the polls to elect leaders in the highly contested poll that has seen Gumoshabe Devotah, a third year law student emerge as a contestant.
The brilliant and brave 23-year-old is the only lady contesting for the Law Society Presidency against three gentlemen.
In the build up to the election, Devotah has mesmerized students as she has promised to unveil an application that will ease their access to learning materials like law reports, articles and journals among others.
The application, Devotah says, is going to help law students at the campus in their day to day reading and revision.
“I am working towards improving the academic and social life of students at IUIU KC,” Devotah, who is currently serving as the Deputy Prime Minister, told The Tower Post in an interview.
It is for the same reason that she is one of the committee members organizing the Law Dinner for students at the campus,
When asked about her readiness to serve as Law Society President, Devotah told this website that she was up to the task ahead and asked that we only let time judge her.
“This means a lot to me. I continue to trust in God who has allowed me to serve as a leader,” she said.
The highly anticipated IUIU KC Law Society polls shall take place in March this year.
