Allen Kagina’s contract at Uganda National Roads Authority has been renewed. This was announced by the Minister of Works and Transport Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala when he visited the UNRA headquarters on Wednesday.
Katumba said that Kagina’s contract had been extended for the next five years, and this was because the organization had achieved a lot under her leadership.
The UNRA board had earlier written to Katumba recommending the extension of her contract
Kagina, whose five-year tenure as executive director of UNRA started on May 1, 2015, was due to expire in April. Kagina who formerly worked as Uganda Revenue Authority boss succeeded Bernard Kimeze Sebugga as the head of the roads authority.
“It was noted that the executive director assumed office on the May 1, 2015, on a five-year contract with an option to renew for one more term in accordance with Section 20(1) of the Unra Act. The Board evaluated the performance of Kagina which was exceeding expectation and took a decision to recommend to the minister to renew her contract,” the report to the minister read in part
The report highlighted various achievements Unra has managed to attain with Kagina at the helm.
Kagina’s current contract will expire in April.
