Akol Makes Major Changes in URA

Doris Akol, the Commissioner-General of Uganda Revenue Authority, has made a major shakeup in the tax body.

In a communiqué to members of staff, Akol has alternated people to different departments and positions.

 Those include; Herbert Rusoke who has been the Commissioner in charge of Corporate Services (CCS), he has been named the Commissioner for Internal Audit and Compliance(CIAC), Patrick Mukiibi who has been the Commissioner in charge of Tax Investigations(CTI) is now the Commissioner Corporate Services (CCS), Henry Saka, the Commissioner in charge of Domestic Taxes(CDT) has been moved to become the Commissioner Tax Investigations and Dicksons Kateshumbwa who has been the Commissioner in charge of the Customs Department(CCD) transferred and made the Commissioner Domestic Taxes.

Abel Kagumire is now the acting Commissioner in charge of the Customs Department which was previously held by Kateshumbwa.

These changes according to a statement will take effect starting April 1, 2020.

The changes are aimed at improving efficiency at URA.

Moses Kayigwa
