CORONAVIRUS: Offices, Factories to Remain Open As Museveni Issues New Preventive Measures

The President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta has suggested that work places remain open during this period.

Museveni says workplaces, unlike other places are easy to control.

“The only work places that should remain open are factories, hotels and offices. This is because there’s a known number of workers. Bars and night clubs are not workplaces because they can’t be regulated. They should be closed,” Museveni said in a televised address.

Museveni says he is still grappling with the idea of banning public transportation, i.e; buses and taxis.

He advised Ugandans to use private means of transport or stay home and not use public transport at all. Museveni says the only remaining danger in spreading the disease is public transport. Not ban yet. He now directs the use of temperature monitoring gadgets at the entries of bus parks & taxi parks.
