UNBS Suspends Importation of Second Hand Clothes to Curb Spread of Covid-19

The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has suspended the importation of second-hand clothes and shoes. This according to UNBS is a move aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus.

The UNBS Executive Director Ben Manyindo released a statement saying that the importation of used footwear and used textiles has been suspended with immediate effect until further notice.”

This is yet another measure introduced to curb the spread of coronavirus. Uganda has registered 61 cases of coronavirus.

41 people have been discharged.

The country is currently observing a lockdown of 21 days with only seven days gone.
