Kenyan Truck Driver Who Tested Positive for Coronavirus Intercepted in Kisoro

A Kenyan truck driver who tested positive for coronavirus has been intercepted by the Covid19 taskforce led by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Capt. Peter Mugisha.

The driver has been identified as Daudi Noor. He was intercepted at Cyanika Border.

Noor was driving truck number KBZ 857F and was in the company of another person identified as Abdiwahab Saidi Issaik. Both of them are said to have left Uganda in April 21 to Rwanda.

On Thursday evening the Ministry of Health announced that 11 new cases of coronavirus had been registered all of which are truck drivers who came in from Kenya and Tanzania.

The general feeling in the public is that truck drivers are blocked from getting into the country.

Uganda has as of today registered a total of 74 cases of coronavirus. 45 have recovered.
