Police Boss Arrested for Obstructing Investigations

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit led by Lt Col Edith Nakalema has arrested the officer-in-charge of Wakiso Police Division Joseph Kamukama for allegedly obstructing investigations and shielding suspects in a murder case of a boda boda cyclist.

Kamukama is said to have tried to block security personnel from accessing two suspects; Stephen Wafula and Ceaser Ekwanga.

Allegations suggest that Kamukama pulled out a gun and threaten to shoot the police officers who wanted to see the suspects.

According to the  Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango “He (Kamukama) indicated that he was not going to hand over Ekwang to the team. He allegedly pulled out his pistol and threatened to shoot the officers. The team used their skills and arrested him,” Mr Onyango said.

The Police also arrested four other people over the same murder case. These include; Officer-in-Charge of Kisimbiri Police Post in Wakiso Town Council, ASP Patrick Mugume.
