Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda has gone into isolation after some of his contacts testing positive for Covid19.

The Prime Minister shared the news on his Twitter and said his own test result is negative.

“I have taken this decision as a health recommended measure.”

The Ministry of Health is currently testing all ministers in Uganda, according to a communique by the Health Minister Dr Ruth Aceng.

“Good evening Honorable Minister, I trusted that you had a successful scientific State of the Nation Address. From Monday 8th June 2020 it will be a requirement for all ministers attending Cabinet to have tested for Coronavirus,” the letter to ministers read in part.

This website has also learnt that the testing hub has already been set up in the boardroom on the 6th floor of the OPM building.

“Tomorrow Friday 5th June 2020 Ministry of Health will carry out tests for the Cabinet. The venue will be 6th floor Office of the President,” added the statement.

The letter also regarded the testing as a must for all Ministers.

“Please remember that this test is mandatory. Have a blessed evening and see you tomorrow,” the letter added.
