Comedians Bizonto have spoken out on claims that Alex Muhangi was behind their recent arrest. The group that includes Sabakaki Simon, Serwanja Julius, Mbabali Maliseri and Sematono Gold Ray, say Muhangi was only used to get to them.

A security officer is said to have called Muhangi with the promise of a gig. The officer asked to meet with Muhangi and the Bizonto, but this was a plot to arrest them. Once the officer knew where the comedians were, a team of others were sent to nab them at Simba FM where they work.

Muhangi also distanced himself from the arrest. He apologized to the Bizonto saying that he was used unknowingly.

He says he is responsible for giving the Bizonto a platform at Comedy Store, one which they used to shine, and therefore, he cannot be the one plotting to bring them down.

The comedians have vowed to continue recording their videos the same they have been doing or even better. Their cameras and other equipment they used was taken by the police. The group is facing charges of promoting tribalism.

They deny the charges saying that their video was distorted by some people on social media. There are elements that were added that are not in the original video.
