Museveni to Put More Stringent Measures, Directives as Covid19 Cases Soar

President Museveni is not happy that people in Kampala are not complying with the guidelines put in place by the government to contain the spread of coronavirus

While addressing the NRM virtual delegates conference on Tuesday, said that he is going to issue new guidelines next week when he addresses the country.

“People in Kampala have given up in the fight against Coronavirus. They have relaxed so much and now the virus is advancing very fast in Kampala. When I speak next week, I will give you more details,” he said.

The President had earlier put the country into a lockdown. Then, the country had only registered less than 10 cases. As of today, the number is soaring beyong 1,000. Only the previois, Uganda registered 60 new COVID-19 cases.

Different government officials have warned that the country could be put into another lockdown if people do not adhere to the set guidelines.
