Sodo Kaguta Defeats Shartsi Kuteesa as Mawogola North NRM Flag Bearer

Godfrey Aine Kaguta ‘Sodo’ has defeated Shartsi Kuteesa Musherure in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries for Mawogola North Constituency in Sembabule District.

In the polls held on Wednesday 30th September 2020, Sodo garnered 17,775 votes (46.3%) while Shartsi Kuteesa got 16,155 votes (42.17%) from the total 150 polling stations

Kiseka Salim, the third candidate in the race got 4,415 vote representing only 11.53%.

The election that started at around mid-day was manned with tight security following previous cases riots and violence that led to postponement of the polls.

Kaguta is a younger brother to President Yoweri Museveni while Shartsi Kuteesa is a daughter to Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kuteesa.
