Opposition Forum for Democratic Change – FDC presidential flag bearer Patrick Amuriat Oboi is currently hospitalized after being pepper sprayed by Police in Bugiri District.
Amuriat who was enroute to Tororo for his campaign was intercepted at Muwaya Village in Bugiri District where a scuffle ensued.
He has been taken to First Line Medical centre in Bugiri where he is receiving treatment.
Oboi was yesterday arrested as he headed to campaign in Jinja, one of the 20 areas where the Electoral Commission suspended campaigning activities.
He was loaded on to a Police car and dropped in Sezibwa.
Today, the FDC strong man was headed for campaigns in Tororo, another area where campaign meetings and activities were suspended.
Meanwhile, FDC maintains that they will not adhere to the Electoral Commission directives on suspending campaigns and insist they will continue as they had planned.
