President Yoweri Museveni who is also the Commander in Chief of the Armed forces has promoted the head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit Edith Nakalema from Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel, The Tower Post has learnt.
The news of the promotion, has been confirmed by Deputy Army spokesperson Deo Akiiki who has also been raised from Lieutenant Colonel to the level of a Colonel.
Although the full list of promotions has not yet been released, this website understands that more promotions have been effected by the commander in chief.
Nakalema who joined the Uganda People’s Defence Forces – UPDF in 1999 has served most of her time in the Special Forces Command where he quickly rose to the level of Major.
She has worked in State House as President Museveni’s personal private secretary from 2014 until 2016 when she was appointed the President’s Personal Assistant.
Prior to joining State House, Nakalema had worked in the finance department of the Special Forces Command (SFC).
She was part of a team that established a working financial and accounting system at the SFC.
