South Sudan’s Salva Kiir, Namibia’s Hage Geingob Arrive for Museveni Inauguration

South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has arrived in Uganda to witness the swearing-in of his Ugandan counterpart Yoweri Museveni.

Kiir touched down at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday evening aboard Rwandair and was welcomed by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Henry Okello Oryem together with Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu.

Another arrival is that of Namibian President Hage Gottfried Geingob who arrived a few minutes after Kiir’s arrival.

Geingob who has been President of Namibia since 2015 was escorted by a team of delegates from the Southern African country.

He becomes the fourth head of state to arrive in Uganda ahead of President Yoweri Museveni’s inauguration for his six elective term of office.

Burundian President Evariste Ndashimiye and Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo are already in the country.

South African Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Naledi Pandor and Sudanese Vice President H.E. Malik Agar Eyre are also in the country.
