President Museveni is set to address the nation to give an update on the progress that the country has made in the efforts to reduce the spread of the COvid19 pandemic.
This was announced by the Senior Presidential Secretary Lindah Nabusayi Wamboka on Tuesday morning.
“Kaguta Museveni will address the Nation this Saturday July 31, 2021 at 8pm on COVID-19 and any other related issues. The address will be live on all Television and Radio stations,” Nabusayi posted on her Twitter account.
The President’s address comes a few days to the end of the 42-day lockdown that was imposed earlier in June as Covid19 cases in the country soared.
According to Health Ministry officials, the lockdown has significantly reduced the number of new cases of the novel coronavirus and there have been many recoveries during the same period.
Whether or not the President will decide to extend remains to be seen.
