MP Okabe to Donate Two More Ambulances to Serere County

Serere County Member of Parliament also the Bishop of Impact Ministries based in Mbale City Bishop Patrick Okabe has secured more two Ambulances to help boost the health system in his constituency.

Okabe revealed this while speaking to the Village Health Team Chairpersons in his constituency on Thursday.

He said he has understood the plight of his voters and has now decided to buy two Ambulances that he said are currently in the car bond.

Serere County only has one Ambulance operating that was donated by Okabe in 2016. The government ambulance in Serere District is still grounded.

According to Okabe the two new ambulances will be situated in the designated Sub County Headquarters.

One Ambulance will be situated in Kateta Sub County, one in Olio Sub County and the old one will remain serving the residents of Kyere town council and Kyere sub County.

“The health system in my constituency is wanting and as area leader I can’t just wait for government to intervene,” he said.

The legislator has also procured 500 Mama kits to be given to pregnant mothers who go for deliveries at government facilities.

He reveals that it has come to his notice that during this pandemic situation some men have failed to provide for their families hence leaving their pregnant mothers vulnerable during the time of delivery.

“Men have run bankrupt in my constituency and I can’t just watch them. I know it’s not my role but I have to support them,” he added.

Meanwhile the ‘Man of God’ has called on Government to secure funds meant to support pregnant mothers.

“Our people need support. I hope government intervenes earlier,” He added.
