A Spanish journalist working for Agence France Presse (AFP) has been killed in a road accident in Northern Uganda.
Sadurni Sumaya, 33, died on Monday night together with her driver Thomas Mugisha, 42, after their vehicle Toyota Rav 4, Reg. No. UAS 597U collided with a FUSO truck, Reg. No. UAL 192U along the Kampala Gulu Highway.
According to Traffic Police spokesperson ASP Farida Nampiima, the accident happened at Chopelwo valley, in Kiryandongo District at around 8:30PM.
Both Sumaya and her driver died on spot.
Their bodies, according to Nampiima have been taken to Kiryandongo Hospital for postmortem checkup.
