Nadduli’s Son Found Dead in Luweero

Jakana Nadduli, son of veteran Luwero polititican and former minister Maj. Abdul Nadduli , has been reported dead by his family Monday morning.

David Lewis Rubongoya, secretary general of opposition party NUP, this mornig tweeted that, “We’ve woken up to the terrible news of the untimely passing of our brother Jakaana Nadduli. The family says he was found dead at his home, a few days after he was released from prison. I spoke to him Saturday and he sounded fine. Terrible news. Inna lillahi wa inallah-e-raji’oon.”

Jakana Nadduli Sulaiman contested in last year’s election, but failed to take Nakaseke Central MP seat.

He was later arrested.  Jakana Nadduli was charged with promoting sectarianism contrary to Section 41 of the Penal Code Act before recently being released on bail.

NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi is also one of the people mourning Jakana.

“Just learnt of the sudden death of our brother Jakana Sulayiman Nadduli, the son of Al Hajj Nadduli. He was abducted a few days back, tortured and spent days under incommunicado detention. In March, he was involved in an accident, which he thinks was staged. Most unfortunate!” Kyagulanyi posted on Monday morning.
