FDC Removes Semujju Nganda from Party Whip Position

Opposition Forum for Democratic Change – FDC removed Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda from his earlier held position as the party whip.

This was revealed in a letter dated August 7th to the Speaker of Parliament by the Party Secretary General Nathan Nandala Mafabi.

In a letter, Mafabi, relieved Ssemujju of his duties with immediate effect.

“In accordance with Section 6 (i), the party hereby appoints Yusuf Nsibambi as the party whip of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) to replace Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda,” Mafabi wrote in the letter seen by this website.

“In the same vein, we hereby withdraw Hon. Ssemujju Ibrahim Nganda as the party whip with immediate effect,” he further wrote.

In Parliament a party whip is a member of a political party whose task is to ensure that members of the party attend the chamber and support their party when a vote is taken.

Prior to being appointed party whip, Ssemujju served as the party’s spokesperson.
