SPLM Sends Trainers to States, Administrative Areas Ahead of Elections

The Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) dispatched the first team of trainers to the states and administrative areas to sensitise its members ahead of the intense campaign before the 2024 general election.

Addressing the party members on Saturday, the SPLM Secretary for Political Affairs, Mobilization and Orientation, Santo Malek, said the team is expected to conduct train their members to prepare them for serious campaigns during the election.

Malek said it would take the support of the national secretary to prepare members in the state to be ready for the campaign during the election.

“We are sending our trainers from Juba to the states to train our members in the state to ensure that all our members in all the states and three administrative areas are trained and ready for election,” he said.

Meanwhile, a group of trainers assigned to the Pibor Administrative Area and Lakes State have arrived and are ready to kick off their activities.

According to Malek, the training includes campaign strategies and understanding parties plans as the election approaches.

He added that similar training will be carried out in all the states and administrative offices to ensure sure that SPLM cadres do their work in mature politics.

One of the trainers sent to the Pibor Administrative Area, Mading Chol, said most of them assigned to the states are experienced members with the best knowledge about the party and politics across the world.

Mading stated the move symbolised the party’s readiness for the election and to rule the country.

He added that training will encompass political books and topics on the agreement such as the role of members in peace implementation.

Meanwhile, the team of SPLM trainers sent to Lakes State, led by Kuol Atem, Secretary for Caucus Affairs, SPLM National Secretariat, and seven others, were received over the weekend.

The teams are ready to start their program on Monday, January 22, 2024, at State Headquarters, Rumbek.

Addressing the media in Lakes State on behalf of the team, Kuol Atem, said the training is meant to prepare members ahead of the election.

He appreciated the SPLM leadership in Lakes State for the warm and comradeship reception accorded to the team.

Atem expressed their readiness to impart knowledge and skills to youth for efficacious political campaigns ahead of the December general elections.

On his part, Mathiang Deng Monydit, State Minister of Cabinet Affairs, expressed the willingness of the Lakes State government to provide protection to the facilitators and participants.
