Museveni Tasks Kiryowa Kiwanuka, Jejje Odong on Among’s Property in London

President Yoweri Museveni has tasked Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka and Foreign Affairs Minister Jejje Odong to follow up with the United Kingdom government to gather more details about the alleged houses owned by Speaker Anita Among in London.

Museveni said this in a letter dated May 11th 2024 addressed to the Attorney General where he said that the UK cannot falsely accuse any Ugandan and he lets it pass.

“I have received a letter from Dr Patricia Achan Okiria, the Deputy Inspector General of Government, of the 9th of May 2024 informing me that Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among never revealed that she has a house in the UK. Rt. Hon. Anita Among has told me that she does not own a house or houses in the UK,” Museveni write.

He has therefore tasked minister Gen Jeje Odongo, and the Attorney-General to provide him with details, after the British High Commissioner reported Parliament’s Speaker Anita Among of owning houses in London, which have not been declared to the IGG.

The UK has also put sanctions on the Speaker, and two other ministers, accusing them of involvement in corruption.
