The High Court in Kampala has granted bail to lawyer Eron Kiiza to bring to a halt, his almost four-months incarceration.

Kiiza was in January sentenced to 9 months imprisonment by the General Court Martial for contempt but he has since challenged the same.

On Friday, the lawyer was granted a shs20million cash bail by Justice Michael Elubu while each of his sureties is to pay a non-cash bond of shs50 million.

The court also  ordered Kiiza to report to its registrar every first Monday of the month

The was jubilation in the court room after the judge pronounced himself on the bail.
