Police Arrest Three Suspects in Connection with Murder of Factory Worker in Mukono

Police in Mukono have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Justas Kamugisha, a casual worker at Makipi Factory.

The suspects have been identified as Charles Kabogoza Kiwanuka, James Ozambe, and Julius Joshua Mwayafu.

Another individual, Chrisisto Kazibwe, is also being mentioned in connection with the case.

According to police, officers responded to a distress call on April 19, 2026, and immediately launched investigations into the killing.

A sniffer dog was deployed at the crime scene and picked up a cap believed to belong to the deceased.

The dog followed the scent trail, which led officers to the residence of one of the suspects.

Upon arrival, police found Kabogoza Charles Kiwanuka hiding and placed him under arrest.

During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to the murder and implicated his two alleged accomplices, Ozambe and Mwayafu, who were later apprehended.

Police say investigations are still ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the murder and determine the exact role of all individuals linked to the case.
