Gaetano Kaggwa and Crystal Newman Kavulu have yet again been chosen as hosts of the second season of NSSF’s Friends With Benefits TV showthat will air on NBS and NTV in January 2018.
The two renowned personalities were the hosts of the inaugural edition in 2016 and instantly captivated viewers with the ease at which they broke down complex financial jargon. Their chemistry on set had viewers requesting that they return as hosts of the second season.
Gaetano is a broadcaster and actor currently working with Capital Radio as a presenter. He was Uganda’s first representative on the Big Brother Africa TV show in 2003 and previously co-hosted Studio 53, a travel magazine program that aired weekly on M-NET in the late 2000s and Tusker Project Fame All Stars reality TV show.
He has also starred in the TV series Beneath the Lies and brings to the show wit to put contestants at ease as they face judges.
Crystal on the other hand is a broadcaster currently working as presenter on Sanyu FM. She was once Mrs. World Uganda in 2011 – a beauty contest for married women worldwide. Her confidence, poise and eloquence on camera is what captures one’s attention as they watch the TV show.
The Friends with Benefits show is an initiative that showcases people who have received their NSSF benefits and used it to transform their lives and that of others. Its main objective is to inspire millions of Ugandans to save whilst teaching them financial literacy skills.
The Top 16 successful stories will be aired in a compelling TV show where winners will be selected through voting by the public and an expert panel of judges. Three winners will then be rewarded with a total of UGX55million to further improve their lives.
Following the inaugural campaign held last year, NSSF registered a significant increment in its Voluntary saving plan with over 400 people joining the plan and UGX670million collected between the months of September and December 2016 when the TV show aired.
