France – Uganda Friendship Week Returns With Second Edition

The Embassy of France in Uganda together with the Uganda Olympic Committee and this year, the Uganda Rugby Union, with the support of a number of other partners, is for the second consecutive year organizing the France – Uganda Friendship Week.

The second edition of the France – Uganda Friendship Week is scheduled to take place from Saturday 17th to Saturday 24th March 2018.

Speaking at a press conference held at the French Embassy in Kampala on Wednesday, French Ambassador to Uganda H.E Stéphanie Rivoal said that the week-long event is a entails a series of joyful, festive events to celebrate the long standing, warm friendship between France and Uganda.

“In the one week, we shall celebrate through music, sports and cultural activities, tourism and environment expos, food and fashion, defense and security, among others in more than eight different locations in and around Kampala,” Ambassador Rivoal said.

The week will climax on Saturday 24th March with a rugby match between the Uganda Rugby 7s and the French military rugby team at the Kyadondo Rugby Grounds.

At the press Conference, Ambassador Rivoal reaffirmed that the Uganda Sevens Rugby teams will be the main focus of this year’s France-Uganda friendship week.
