Ugandan professional boxer Mustafa Katende has dies, The Tower Post has learnt.

Katende died after collapsing during training at Police Training School Gym in Kibuli on Monday morning.

Mr Dan Kasole, the head coach of Police Boxing Club says Katende was not feeling well and was advised to return for training tomorrow but when has main trainer Ayub Kalule arrived at the gym, he (Katende) decided to do at least three rounds.

Kasole added that in the second round, Katende lost balance and collapsed.

“We rushed to him as he gasped for breath and took him to Nsambya hospital, where he breathed his last,” Kasole said, adding that the Doctors said Katende might have suffered a heart attack.

The deceased is said to have been training for his next fight with was scheduled to take place on July 30 in Poland.
